Hottest Shoe Trends
We are early in the year but already we have seen some of the hottest new trends take the fashion world by storm. Shoes styles are putting twists on traditional looks, and inventing all new styles and color combos in ladies shoes. Fabrics and materials are also seeing big changes, bringing back some old favorites and trying something new in familiar styles. Here are some of the hottest trends so far this year.
- Suede! A material that has come and gone in the fashion world many times over, and this year, it is in, in, in! And we’re not just talking about your favorite pair of winter boots, but this familiar material is now being featured in sexy evening shoes, such as slingback pimps. Check out these beautiful, cobalt, peep toe heels from Moda in Pelle. Suede is also not commonly known for coming in a variety of colors. We often think of khaki or tan, something in the muted family of colors, but not this year. We are seeing suede really pop, in colors ranging from yellow, to red, to blue. This is a great texture to add to your shoe collection, considering it is just so versatile. It’s appropriate for the office, and great for a night out.
- Sequins! We have seen it on just about everything this year, but now we are seeing it in shoes. If a sequined top isn’t your style, you should consider sequined stilettos as a way to add some flair to your outfit. Sequins are the epitome of the evening look, with it’s fun and shiny nature, you are bound to be noticed. Wear a black pair of sequined heels with your favorite pair of jeans and a slinky top. Or, wear a cute pair of sequined flats with some skinny jeans for a new look.
- Wedges! A great alternative to heels, with a fantastic vintage and retro feel, wedges are taking over the world of shoes with a vengeance. Most women who do not like heels, or feel they can’t walk confidently in them, really covet the wedge style shoe. This combines the platform with the heel for a more stable, flat surface to walk on. It is much easier to balance, and very comfortable. The best styles that suit the wedge are slingbacks in bold, solid colors, very reminiscent of the 1950s. You can also found adorable peep toe wedges, in a fun pattern such as paisley for a more country girl look.

Winter means breaking out the warmer clothing to layer up against the cold. But this doesn’t have to mean you’re condemned to a season without style!
